Welsh Corgi Cardigan ( Gr I 38 FCI )

They are sheepdogs, coming from British territories - it is believed that they were brought to Wales by the Celts and the first records of the breed come from 1200. BC. They are dogs willing to cooperate with humans, curious, inventive and ubiquitous, but what is important, they are not expansive and obedient. They will think three times if something is profitable for them, but for food they will do everything ... well, almost everything. In the old days they were used to shepherd cattle and sheep and some individuals still have a very strong grazing instinct (they even graze children, which is sometimes useful;))). Physically, a properly built cardigan should have a well-developed chest, short but strong paws, and a tail that looks like a fox, reaching the ground. Prick ears, large in relation to the size of the dog - data taken from the FCI breed standard.

About us...

I'm an energetic, open-minded person, sometimes I have weaker days like everyone else, but I gather and move on - maybe that's why cardigans stuck to my heart so much - like ordinary, inconspicuous in appearance and about the minds and souls of travelers, explorers and romantics. How does it all fit into these little Cardigan bodies? It is probably because, according to legend, they are Irish fairy dogs - they were horses for fairies as evidenced by their build and color;) - if you look closely you will see it all in the eyes of Welsh Corgi Cardigan ....

The first Welsh Corgi Cardigan came to me in 2015 - female Misha - today Misha is the doyen of the family and reigns supreme. Over time, our group has grown and currently seven females of Welsh Corgi Cardigan live with me. All of them have a very good, friendly character and exterior, which is confirmed at FCI dog shows, always obtaining high positions with excellent marks. My dogs live at home, lie on sofas, sometimes lick their plates;))))). Puppies are also raised in my salon and take an active part in everyday life from the very first days. Proper socialization of toddlers results in balanced and cheerful dogs in the future, without any features of aggression or anxiety.
